[Alex comes in a few minutes later, looking tired, and a bit awkward, as usual, but hey, there is a smile on his lips. He moves to sit next to her, and takes the bottle to pour himself a drink.]
Hey. [ One elbow on the edge of the bar, October glances over in Alex's direction, first watching him pour his drink before she glances towards his face. He looks about as tired as she still feels these days, despite the few good nights of sleep. She really needs to talk to Kirk and figure out what those pills her gave her were... ]
I hope you're okay with that, [ she nods towards the bottle. ] I think it's vodka, but who knows up here.
Oh, so you'll be the one carrying me back to my room, then? Good to know. [ Smiling a little, in hopes of getting one out of him in response, October takes a sip of her drink. She never used to be one to drink straight hard alcohol like this, not unless it was just a shot, but space has changed her in that respect.
She nods to his last comment because even the good stuff up here is awful. ] But it does the trick. For most of us, anyway.
[ Her smile widens for a moment, though it's more thanks to his chuckle than his comment. ]
As long as you don't just ditch me someplace, I won't hold it against you. [ She lifts her glass to her lips but pauses before taking a drink, gesturing towards him with the glass instead. ] Though it was my idea to come here, so I think it might be my fault this time around.
[ Her eyes narrow into a bit of a glare, but it's more playful than anything. ] I can be plenty nice, thank you.
So we're not going shot for shot, then? Bummer. [ Either way, she's finishing off what she's got in her glass. ] I was aiming for liver failure today. Guess that plan's shot to hell now.
That's the only redeeming quality. [ She takes a sip from her glass before continuing. ] The plots are riddled with holes and don't make any kind of sense, they have seriously sub-par acting, everyone's related to everyone else, and they do anything they can to up the drama to a ridiculous level. It's mindless, lame television meant for stay at home moms that have nothing better to do with their lives.
[ She lets out a quiet hum as she nods. ] Yeah, it would. I think it'd be more primetime, though, not soap opera. It gets a little too violent for the middle of the day crowd.
Count yourself lucky; it gets boring after a while. [ Of course, October's always preferred video games and books to television, so maybe that's why she feels that way.
Downing the rest of her alcohol, she sets her glass back down on the bar. She stares at it for a moment before running a hand over her face. ] So I'm guessing her original owner isn't big on lending her out? Even to the guy that took care of her while he wasn't here? [ By which she means lending to Alex to lend to October. ]
In other words no, he won't let you take her overnight again. [ Her lips press together in a slight frown. She really needs to find something that'll help that isn't reliant on other people. ] Guess I'll just have to figure something else out.
[ She shakes her head and looks over a him, hand moving to his knee so she knows he's listening. ] Don't be. Seriously. You did what you thought you had to do; I'll survive. [ It's frustrating, sure, but she doesn't want him feeling guilty at all. Not over something like this, especially when he's already bummed enough about giving the dog back. ]
Come here. [ Her hand slides off his leg so she can wrap her arm around his shoulders instead. Being on bar stools and her sitting next to him means it's not quite a hug, but that doesn't stop her. ]
[He sighs and slides off the stool, instead, to give her a proper hug, pulling her in close, so he could rest his chin on her shoulder. He's unnaturally warm, but that's just an effect of his powers.]

[Alex smirks a bit, and gives a shrug.]
I'd worry about becoming an alcoholic, but it takes so much to get me really drunk I think I'm safe.
[He takes a sip, and lets out a sigh.]
Most of the stuff is shit anyways.

[He chuckles, taking another drink.]
I know. See this is what I do--I go and get everyone drunk.

Be nice and I won't.
[He shifts, turning to look at her more.]
No see people try to keep up with me. Which gets them drunk. And me buzzed, maybe.

[He smirks.]
Well, if we go shot for shot, I'll be taking you to the med bay, not home.
Which is really where anyone wants to go. None of the doctors are that hot.
no subject
No, they're really not. We need the ones from soap operas back home or something instead.

[Alex shakes his head, taking another drink, before moving to refill his glass.]
...I don't think I've ever seen one of those.
no subject
You should count yourself lucky, then, because they're awful.

[Alex refilled for her, giving a grin.]
They can't be that bad, if they have redeeming qualities.

[Alex gave a wider grin, taking a long drink.]
I mean, this would make for one ridiculous television show.

I mean--I never really got to watch much tv.

I kinda refused to give Anya back to Erik after he came back.
[Alex shrugged.]
I didn't think he deserved it but...with him having lost an arm and stuff, I think I'd be a big asshole if I didn't give the dog back.

Sorry.
