[He sighs, and damn, if it feels good. Sorry, October, Alex doesn't really get a lot of hugs, normally. He holds on for a few more moments, but finally he pulls back, but not before giving October a quick but awkward kiss on the cheek, flushing (and regretting it) immediately.]

[ He could hold on for as long as he needed to and October wouldn't have complained. It probably goes against her outward appearance, but she's a really big fan of hugs. Hell, she's a really big fan of touchy-feely shit, even if she expresses a good portion of it through sarcasm with certain people.

Which means, of course, that she grins when he kisses her cheek. Her hands move to his biceps, giving them a brief squeeze as she tries to keep her grin from growing any wider at the sight of him flushing like that. ] Of course. I'm here for you, whatever you need.

[ She rubs his arms for a moment and then, unless he stays put, moves to turn back towards the bar. ]

Good.

[He bit his lip to hide a small smile, and then moved to sit back down as well, pouring them both new drinks. So that hadn't been as embarrassing as it could have been. Awesome.]

Because I need all the friends I can get.

You've got me until this place gets sick of me. [ Which she's hoping, against all logic, won't be for a very long time.

She grabs her glass once he's done pouring and lifts it up for a toast. ] To friends.

Well let's hope it likes you a lot.

[Alex smiles, and raises it as well, tinking it against hers.]

And awesome people.

[ She smiles at the comment and then nods in agreement to his toast before downing her drink. The alcohol's making her feel warm now, cheeks a little flushed. It's nice. ]

That might have to be my last one for a while unless you really do feel like carrying me back to my room.

What, you don't want the best piggyback ride back to your room?

[ Eyeing him for a moment, October grins a little wider than she normally does. ]

It has been a while since I got one of those...

Well I give the best, you know. My sister used to claim that.

[Though she used to say he was the best at everything.]

In that case-- [ She slides her glass towards him since he's still got the bottle. ] Fill 'er up.

[He laughs and fills the glass.]

Well I didn't know you'd be that easy.

Don't go spreading it around, alright? I don't need the entire ship to know. [ She tilts the glass back towards her once he's down pouring, inspecting the liquid for a moment before downing it as well. ]

I'm good at keeping secrets--lucky you.

[He grins and takes another drink, starting to feel a tiny tingle, finally.]

Very lucky me. [ October's past the tingle, though she could walk if she needed to. She sets her glass down on the bar again, fingers tapping against the side. ] You know, if we're not careful up here, we're all going to end up with alcohol poisoning. Or severe liver damage.

Wouldn't that be sad. They find us adrift years later. Think we died in some epic battle, and nope, just alcohol.

[He laughs at that. It's a bitter laugh, but hey, it's a real possibility.]

[ The sound she lets out is almost amusement, but it's not quite there yet. ]

You think our bodies would last long enough for somebody to actually find us?

Who knows. I mean...

...I guess all the weird creatures might eat us.

I've always wanted to be someone's dinner. [ Though it's not particularly funny, October actually does laugh this time. Probably harder than she should, truth be told, and she's not sure if that's because of the alcohol or because of the stress and exhaustion. ]

[Alex laughs with her, despite the morbidity of it.]

Hey, at least we'd be serving a purpose, right?

And what a great fucking purpose it would be. [ Except for every way that it's not. Pushing her glass aside, October rests one arm on the bar top and then rests her head on top of that arm. ] I'd rather be destined for greatness in another way.

Like I had any doubt.

[Alex nudges her gently.]

[ She grins a little and nudges him back with her free elbow. ] You never know, alright? There could be somebody out there that's sick enough in the head to actually want that.

Well too bad. I'd kill them first.

[He smiles.]

I'm pretty dangerous, I swear.

I'll keep that in mind if I ever need a bodyguard. [ Which isn't really out of the realm of possibility here.

She moves to sit up again, gripping the bar for a moment. Now that she's let the alcohol settle, it's hitting her harder than she'd expected. ] I definitely think it's time to throw in the towel.

[He holds back a laugh and pushes off.]

Well, then time for that ride, right?

[He turns her back to her, looking over his shoulder.]
