| PLAYER INFORMATION Your Name: Jenny OOC Journal: Under 18? If yes, what is your age?: Nope! Email + IM: partyschoolbingo [at] gmail [dot] com | ihadmittenson (AIM) Characters Played at Ataraxion: Mason Lockwood ( CHARACTER INFORMATION Name: October Bantum Canon: Stay Alive Original or Alternate Universe: Original! Canon Point: Post death. Number: RNG me! Setting: History: Because of the way that she and Hutch interact, it is safe to assume that they are also good friends (likely from college or high school) that have most likely attempted to date a few times but it never really worked out. They have a very strong familial type relationship, though I still believe there is an undercurrent of sexual attraction between them and if things lined up JUST RIGHT, they would likely try to date again and the relationship would succeed. We first meet October when Hutch stops by her and her brother's cafe after Loomis' funeral. She's sitting on a counter, reading a book (most likely goth chick lit, if you ask Phin). She hops off the counter, greets Hutch with a "Give us a kiss" and a hug, then starts talking to him about Loomis. Phin starts going through Loomis' bag, which was given to Hutch at the funeral, and they discuss pictures October finds of Hutch and Loomis together, suggesting the fact that October didn't know Hutch when they were younger. Phin eventually stumbles across Stay Alive, the game that Loomis and his friends were playing the night they died, and despite protests of both Hutch and October, Phin eventually convinces them to get together to play the game that night. October, computer in hand, goes over to Hutch's apartment that night and plays the game with them. She comments on knowing the history of Bathory and the Garouge Plantation thanks to her grandmother - which Phin partially confirms - and is one of the people to agree to calling it a night fairly early. After Hutch finds out that his boss, who was playing the game with them, was killed in his office, he goes back to the cafe to find October, Phin and the rest of their friends. When Phin makes some stupid comments, October calls him out on them and then goes outside with Hutch, Swink and Abigail to have a cigarette and get some air. She pesters Abigail, talks out the recent deaths with Hutch, and they eventually start making the connection that people who die in the game are then killed in real life in exactly the same way. She and Hutch both panic when they realize Phin is still inside playing the game and they rush back in, only to find Phin taking a hit off a bong. They argue about whether or not the deaths are really caused by the game and then eventually split up to do their own things. October stays at the cafe to clean up and, while she's wiping down an espresso machine, sees the reflection of Elizabeth Bathory's ghost (everyone else is having various other experiences, all tied to things that happen in the game/the legend of Bathory). Though none of it lasts more than a split second, Hutch calls everyone together at the cafe to discuss their findings because he's convinced the game really is killing people. October doesn't quite believe it at first but eventually Hutch's findings - police files of the crime scenes he somehow managed to gain access to when he stopped by work - convince her otherwise and she calls Phin in a panic. They determine he hasn't died in the game and then go to get him, since his car died. Unfortunately, when they get to the spot Phin's car died at, October rushes out of the van and finds him dead in the street, run down by a horse drawn carriage. It seals all of their suspicions for her and after she breaks down and blames Hutch for bringing the game into their lives, she swears she'll get revenge. The gang splits up to find out the information they can; Hutch and Abigail to hit up Loomis' house and then track down the creator of the game while October and Swink head over to Hutch's apartment. There, October finds a book that explains how to trap Bathory's spirit and kill her once and for all. She, Hutch and Swink all talk on the phone, find out that one of the investigators of the murders has been found dead, and then plan to meet up elsewhere when police cars arrive outside the building. October and Swink run and manage to escape the police, then meet up with the other two. Abigail and Hutch show up a bit later and find Swink to discuss their findings from the creator of the game and the woman who wrote the book about Bathory that inspired it. Abigail sees that the game is playing itself and shows October's character outside, investigating something and asks where October is. Swink says that she's outside having a smoke and the three, after realizing what's going to happen, rush out to find her. October thinks she sees something inside of a house that's under construction and decides to go inside to investigate. She realizes that it's Bathory's ghost and, fueled by revenge, she grabs a hammer and nails so she can put them through Bathory like the book told her to. She ends up finding a nail gun, though, and uses that instead since it would make it easier to sneak up on her. Unfortunately, the nails don't work on the ghost, so October drops the gun and runs. Her foot catches a pile of chains and she falls, which Bathory takes advantage of and uses her ghostly powers to wrap the chains tightly around October's ankle. She gets strung up and swings for a while, trying to fight her way free. Eventually October settles in one place, tells Bathory to "Go fuck herself" and then Bathroy slits her throat. She bleeds out, Bathory disappears, October drops to the floor and then Hutch comes running in to try to save her. He begs her to stay with him, to survive, says that he can't lose her too (his reaction lending more proof to the on again/off again relationship he and October had) but it's too late. She's dead before she even hits the floor. Personality: She is also protective of her adopted family - the close-knit group of friends she spends the entire movie with. It's shown in the way that she's constantly telling Phin to watch what he says about Hutch's dead friends, in how she reacts both to Abigail first arriving to game with them and the way she turns around/puts her hand on Hutch's shoulder when they're outside and Abigail suddenly shows up (almost like she's marking her territory). She gets Swink out of Hutch's apartment when the cops show and makes sure that he's with her the entire time so he doesn't get left behind and caught. Throughout the entire movie (at least while she's alive), October basically acts like the mother figure of the group. That said, she is also incredibly blunt and unafraid to speak her mind. She's constantly calling Phin on his stupid moves - saying offensive and/or hurtful things to Hutch, picking on Swink - as well as saying very suggestive things without shame. She comments on third person shooters (a type of game) and says that "People who say size don't matter [never played one]. Can I have a 42 incher? You know I like the big ones." Considering the way no one reacts except her brother, it's safe to say that October says things like this all the time, most likely just to be cheeky. She is also incredibly sarcastic. It's shown mostly in how she interacts with Phin, but she also has some snarky/rough-edged moments with Abigail. Sometimes it's a way for her to show how much she cares but other times, it's more a defense mechanism because she doesn't want her perfect world and her adopted family to get taken away from her. Whether she intends for it to come off this way or not, she likely treats Abigail that way because she wants to scare her off and keep her claws out of Hutch. Abilities, Weaknesses and Power Limitations:
Inventory:
( 1 ) pair blue jeans ( 1 ) pair black Converse sneakers ( 1 ) pack of cigarettes ( 1 ) silver lighter ( 1 ) tube mascara ( 1 ) tube black eyeliner ( 4 ) silver rings Appearance: Also, because of how she was killed and the canon point I'm bringing her in from, I would like her to have a scar on her throat. It wouldn't be terribly garish but would be noticeable to anyone paying close enough attention. She is played by Sophia Bush. ( picture! ) Age: 25. (Character age is never given in canon; this is purely headcanon.) AU Clarification: Not needed! SAMPLES Log Sample:
No one ever said that life was fair, so why should death be any better? Needless to say, she definitely didn't expect to wake up in some kind of Jell-O like substance with a tube shoved down her throat, hitting her gag reflex and making it incredibly difficult to gasp for air. Panic sets in the second her brain kicks back in and just as she's about to reach up to rip the breathing tube out of her mouth, it starts moving all on its own, causing her to cough. Her eyes water and she squeezes them tightly shut, so she doesn't see the door of the gravcouch open, nor does she see the floor she's falling towards. Her fingers curl against the floor as she continues coughing, the sound harsh and uncontrollable, lungs aching as she tries to catch her breath. She can feel her stomach churning, bile burning the back of her throat and if this is Heaven, she really should've sinned a hell of a lot more. Once she manages to catch her breath and actually lifts her head to get a better look at the room she was dropped into - literally - she notices that she's definitely not the only person here. The commotion is almost too loud for her jumbled brain, but she pushes herself to her feet, wraps her arms around herself as best she can to cover the more private bits of her body, and follows the crowd towards the showers. Getting clean and dressed is priority number one. Once that's done, she'll deal with figuring out where the hell she is. Comms Sample:
You can save the "Welcome to Tranquility" speech for someone else because I've already got the basic details of this place down. What I need is to know if anyone's gotten their hands any books because if I'm going to be stuck in space, I'm going to need something to occupy my time with. Also coffee or energy drinks would be amazing. Everyone here seems pretty fond of the trading system, but the only thing I've really got to offer is a pack of cigarettes and sorry, folks, but those're mine. Unless you've got something really good to offer, anyway, and then we can talk. |
